After playing AOL videos on firefox with no problems. and no Active X plugin. Now I get the following:. One time it request that the Active X plugin be installed. The next time it request to Upgrade to windows media Player 7.1 or higher, The next time it played the videos but using real Player ( The real player Logo came up in the player window) now it's not playing again. Kind of strange stuff.

I even tried the NS7.2 UserAgent. I was using Firefox1.0.7, with and without NS7.2 User Agent, with firesomething extention, and, yes, it asks me for WMP7.1 or higher. sorry guys, I have WMP10. I know that some sits cannot accept it, and, demand WMP9. I don't have patience for consistent stupidity. and, I have even less use of AOL videos.
By the way, the ten 10 use Macromedia 8, so who knows what they are doing.

I got it! It may not help you, but it helped me. First of all I confirmed that I had, physically, the required files for AOL Media Playback in NS7.2, where it worked fine, and then in FF1.0.7. The files were there, but going to about:plugins there was no AOL Media Playback. I went into the Firesomething extention, and unchecked the "rebranding box, and I was ok, with both AOL Media Playback and ActiveX plugin. I was trying to get a Bonnie Raitt video, and, previously, it asked me to update WMP. Not now.
I have tested FF1.5 beta, which would not play for me, and since it, also has Firesomething, it suffered from the same problem. As for Active X, i don't think that there is a plugin for it. So, everything goes as I expected.
The presence of the plugin does not allow either AOL Media and ActiveX plugins.
