Screenshot of Opera 9 under Mac OS X x86:
Also, like most web browsers available for Mac OS X x86, Opera still identifies itself as PPC, even on x86 machines. This will probably be changed by 9.0 release.
Opera 9.0 also sports a brand new configuration address, opera:config, probably influenced by the Gecko Browsers' about:config.

I wish they would put some more work into the mail client. I like it. but when i receive something with attachments and forward it from Opera to some one else. It's a mess the way it's received. It's hard to explain but everything is broken up. the pictures, the type etc. are broken up into groups. where pictures belong there is a box with an X. then further down the pictures show up one after the other. I use thunderbird to forward mail with attachments. Also if you change fonts whoever gets the email just gets the same "Plain" old font. not the one you typed the email with.

Yeah... M2 (or Opera mail I guess they now call it) has always been somewhat of a disappointment. It has some great things to commend it (i.e. the single data base with a variety of views and the ability to search a variety of ways for old emails) BUT it lacks the ability to compose in html and as you mention... forwarding pics is a bit bizarre.

i would be happy with a mail program similar to Mozilla Suite (seamonkey)..it has everything needed. what's up with composing in HTML, what's the big deal?... That right now is my biggest beef with Opera. Otherwise it's a good browser. I like a "Suite" type deal. The mail and Browser in one. Not like firefox and thunderbird .

Yeah... I hear you. I use FF and TB but in my heart of hearts... I long for the Netscape of old. I just never cottoned to the Mozilla suite although I know it is the direct successor. Don't ask me why. I can't figure it out.
Opera is a great browser... no question there. Sure, there are some sites that it won't render properly... but for the most part, they're fewer and fewer. But its mail program is an acquired taste and one for which I do not care. Yuck!
So, what has Opera 9 got that 8.5 doesn't?
