I am having trouble installing Mandriva linux 2006 on Virtual pc 6. When I try to install it it says "Your CPU doesnt support long mode. Please choose a 32-bit distibution." It did the same thing when I tryed 2k5 a while back. Any suggestions?

Did you install Mandriva Linux (for i386, x86, ix86 and that's 32-bit version)?

corrected my stupid typing.

It sounds like you downloaded a 64-bit distribution for eiher an x86_64 or an IA-64 processor (due to the fact that it says to use a 32-bit distribution). Make sure to get an x86 build and not an x64 build.

well, I booted up the 32-bit one and I got to the point where it says Installing program on memory, then there were a few arguments, then it said it is safe to reboot, so I rebooted and found it did nothing. Sad
