Although it's hasn't been officially announced yet, builds of Mozilla Firefox 1.5 Final have been
uploaded to the Mozilla.org FTP servers. Go here to be one of the first to get your copy!
More info will be posted in this thread later. I'm off to install the new release . . . !

Thanks for the release news, DJGM . . . ! I was about to post this, but you beat me to it!
| I wrote: | The Mozilla Foundation has released Mozilla Firefox 1.5. Mozilla Firefox 1.5 is the first major Firefox release since the Mozilla Firefox 1.0 launch over a year ago and is the culmination of more than a year and a half of work on the Gecko 1.8 branch.
The Mozilla Firefox 1.5 Release Notes outline the new features in this milestone that differ from the Firefox 1.0.x branch:
| What's New wrote: | * Automated update to streamline product upgrades. Notification of an update is more prominent, and updates to Firefox may now be half a megabyte or smaller. Updating extensions has also improved.
* Faster browser navigation with improvements to back and forward button performance.
* Drag and drop reordering for browser tabs.
* Improvements to popup blocking.
* Clear Private Data feature provides an easy way to quickly remove personal data through a menu item or keyboard shortcut.
* Answers.com is added to the search engine list.
* Improvements to product usability including descriptive error pages, redesigned options menu, RSS discovery, and "Safe Mode" experience.
* Better accessibility including support for DHTML accessibility and assistive technologies such as the Window-Eyes 5.5 beta screen reader for Microsoft Windows. Screen readers read aloud all available information in applications and documents or show the information on a Braille display, enabling blind and visually impaired users to use equivalent software functionality as their sighted peers.
* Report a broken Web site wizard to report Web sites that are not working in Firefox.
* Better support for Mac OS X (10.2 and greater) including profile migration from Safari and Mac Internet Explorer.
* New support for Web Standards including SVG, CSS 2 and CSS 3, and JavaScript 1.6.
* Many security enhancements.

I'm not too sure about this. I've completely uninstalled Firefox 1.5RC3 and I've created a fresh new profile, yet the
user agent string shows this actual Firefox build was compiled on 11th November. That can't be right . . . can it?

Accodring to reports on the MozillaZine Forums, (at least on Windows) the 1.5 final release is identical to 1.5 Release Candidate 3.

So basically, anyone that already has Mozilla Firefox 1.5 Release Candidate 3, needn't actually
bother downloading 1.5 final, seeing as they're essentially both one and the same thing!

I have never noticed if the rcs had an entry in the Add/Remove. I decided to install 1,.5 in a FF1.5 folder. rc3 was still in FF1.4.1. I uninstalled the new FF1.5, without even using it, and, now I have no entry in the Add/Remove. Should there have been any? However, rc3 looks ok.
I will hang on it, and see what happens after rebooting.

This Release Notes page is absolutely same as What's New in Firefox 1.5 RC 3 relnotes is.
I.e. they haven't changed the title and the content yet.

It also looks like the launch of the Mozilla Corporation's mozilla.com has accompanied the Mozilla Firefox 1.5 release.

Mozilla.com website does not recognise .dmg file extension.
In the Mozilla.com, I got a similar page as beanboy89's, except it says "1.5 for Mac OS X, English (9.5MB)" and still with an ugly non-Apple display.
Then, I clicked "Download Firefox", and I received following:
They (mozilla.com) released Firefox 1.5 for Mac, without configuring the MIME type for .dmg correctly.
Of course, I know how to download files from websites when they do not set the MIME type correctly in the server, but they should've configured this properly.

That particular incident was when downloading from one of Mozilla Foundation's mirror sites - easynews.com.
Since easynews.com do not have proper MIME type configured, I don't think it's suitable to be one of the mirror sites for Mozilla Foundations or Mozilla Corporations.
