I found this at one of my favorite 68k Mac sites and thought it would also pertain to the members of this forum.

Apparently, Mozilla will still be made for "Classic" Mac OS, but it has been
moved to "ports". As far as I'm aware, this means it will still be made by
outside contributors, in the same way as the versions of Mozilla that are
ported to "abandonware" operating systems like BeOS and IBM's OS/2.
As Apple is now focusing it's attention on Mac OS X, and informing vendors
of software for Macintosh, that they should consider discontinuing further
production of applicatons made for "classic" Mac OS, and concentrate on
production of applicatons for the Mac OS X platform, this effectively
means that "classic" Mac OS will become "abandonware" like
the aforementioned BeOS and IBM's OS/2.
While I agree that it's wrong for Mozilla.org to stop making builds for
"classic" Mac OS, especially as most Mac users haven't got round to
upgrading to Mac OS X, and are still using Mac OS 8.x-9.x, at least
as Mozilla for "classic" Mac OS, with it being moved to "ports", at
least there will be plenty of enthusiastic "classic" Mac OS users
that can build Mozilla from source for the Mozilla "ports", in
comparison with the relatively small number of people
that are building Mozilla for BeOS and IBM's OS/2.
Maybe, if Mozilla for Mac OS X is made compatible with CaronLib,
then there is the possibility that it can be run on "classic" Mac OS.

It seems the Mozilla Organization have decided not to switch Mozilla builds
for "Classic" Mac OS to port status after all, but abandon them altogether.
See this article @ MozillaZine for more info . . .

since Mac classic has far more users than OS X. and Apple now intruduce Safari to OS X, Mozilla.org should fight for the Classic Users. Chimera is enough for OS X, and Mozilla.org should not think of any strong help from Apple.
So sadly, these commercial companies only think of money.
