MacBook Pro
Introducing the new MacBook Pro notebook computer featuring an Intel Core Duo processor which delivers up to four times the performance of the PowerBook G4. Just one inch thin and weighing only 5.6 pounds, the MacBook Pro also includes a built-in iSight video camera, an Apple Remote and Front Row software.
Two models are available:
1.67GHz Core Duo, 667MHz FSB, 512MB RAM, 80GB SATA HDD, 4x Superdrive, ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 (128MB GDDR3) for US$1999
1.83GHz Core Duo, 1GB RAM, 100GB SATA HDD , 4x Superdrive, ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 (256MB GDDR3) for US$2499
Shipping February.
All MacBook Pro comes with Apple Remote, Front Row, iLife '06, Photo Booth software, iSight built-in and uses ATI Mobility Radeon X1600, dual-link DVI built-in for connecting to the 30-inch Apple Cinema Display HD display.

The communications/ports for MacBook Pro are:
One FireWire 400 port at up to 400 Mbps
Two 480-Mbps USB 2.0 ports
ExpressCard/34 slot
built-in 54-Mbps AirPort Extreme wireless networking (802.11g standard)
built-in Bluetooth 2.0+EDR
built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet
It is interesting to note that the FireWire 800 port is missing. It was previously available on PowerBook 15" and 17" models.

Well, you certainly can run Windows on any of the new Intel based Macs, if you have Virtual PC installed.
But then of course. that's been the case with the PowerPC based G3/G4/G5's for quite a few years now.
The only way to find out if Windows is able to run natively, without any emulator app, on a new Intel
machine would be to actually buy one, insert your Windows 2000/XP install CD, and run the installer.
Mind you, that'd be a very expensive experiment, and it may not be guaranteed to work ... if at all.

Can you run Windows on (a Mac with) Intel Core Duo processors?

According to BetaNews report, the answer is
“[Apple] would not specifically block the use of Windows on Mac hardware. Instead, limitations in Windows itself will prevent its use on the new MacBook Pro laptop and iMac.”

I've read somewhere that Windows Server 2003 supports EFI and might run. Plus, you can try WinServer2003 for free for 180 days.

MacBook Pro's battery life has yet to be finalized. The MacBook Pro is the first Apple laptop to feature a Lithium Polymer battery. According to Think Secret (NOTE: a rumour site), Lithium Polymer has been in the iPod for four years.

According to The Mac Observer report, MacBook Pro is now shipping, and shipping with faster models.

The main reason I bought this PowerBook G4 (the one I'm typing on now) was for my graphics and video editing. I would only consider buying these new MacBooks if there was one available with a 17 inch screen (hopefully there may be one in the pipeline). I know Apple have said that the screen on these new laptops is much brighter so you wouldn't need a 17 inch model, but that's beside the point. Until there is a 17 inch one I don't see any reason why I should upgrade (especially when most of my software is going to probably run slower or the same using current Rosseta emulation).
