Note This thread is separated from EddiePaxil's question in Windows Media Components for QuickTime. A new thread would be easier for everybody Wink - Antony.

I stil have one small issue you might be able to help me with Anthony to get my Mac 100 % vack to normal. I had to trash alot of preferences and I might have accidently trashed one I didn't want to. Previously I was able to Save image files off the net (Like say a Carlson Twins Wallpaper) by right clicking and I would get the option of "Save As" and I could save it anywhere. ow it only gives me the Desktop as an option. Any Ideas? Thanks again for all your help.
Eriel,
If you deleted any preference files (.plist), simply re-launch the application, and you will be given a default preference files.

I don't think there's such option. Please see following screenshots showing the context menu of images:

If the image on a webpage serves as a link,

If the image on a webpage does not have a link associate to it (just image),

I don't recall a Save As option. However there are other ways to save images...
1. Open the image in a new tab, then from File | Save As (or simply Command + S)

2. Drag the image to your desktop or any harddisk (folder).

Directly dragging is the usual method I use, I crated a shortcut (alias) called “saved pic” on my desktop, and I just simply drag the image to that alias. (This method is useful for people with wide format screen or people do not open Safari in full screensize.)

(I usually open the browser screen in 800 pixel wide, opening browser screen in full screen (maximised) is simply too Windows to me.)

Hope this helps.

Yeah there is. It was something I used quite a bit to get wallpapers. I've found it and I think I know what happened.

If you have a mouse with the ability to right click you'll get the option you showed in the picture with "Save Linked File to Desktop" or "Save Image to Desktop", but if you hit Option and Right Click, you get "Save Linked File As" or "Save Image As". Somehow I had reversed this. Where simply right clicking alone gave me the latter two options. I just can't remember how I did it.

Yes, I have Mighty Mouse.
And to make a context click (*) in a single button mouse, just hold down the control key. Wink
(*) context click is commonly known as “right click”.

This is new to me. Now I can get “Save Image As...” when holding down Option key.

I will ask Tony (the expert) and see if he knows how to reverse the setting.

Got it figured out. It was Firefox that gave me that opyion under right-click. I use both Safari and Firefox and "Save As" is a default menu option under right click in Firefox. My bad, was remembering a feature from the wrong browser.
