About a year after the release of K-Meleon 0.9, a new official K-Meleon

build has been released, K-Meleon 0.9.12. The main goal for this Gecko 1.7.12-based release was security, and since this time a year ago, there have been numerous updates to the Gecko core to fix various security bugs that K-Meleon 0.9 was vulnerable to.

Of course, up until now, you could update K-Meleon yourself

with an updated Gecko, but 0.9.12 is an official package and includes many addidional bugfixes.

Here is a portion of the Release Notes:

Fixed
The fixes in the 0.9.12 release include the following serious bugs:

* Some small bugs fixed.
* Pop-up bug fixed by inclusion of 2 files from earlier GREs.
* Bugfix for the so-called "giant" history bug implemented.
o This bugfix unfortunately disables Google Maps and GMail.
+ To enable these services, disable the bugfix temporarily, by clicking on Tools - Privacy - Permissions - Google Maps/GMail enable/disable.
+ Afterwards disable again, to get the bugfix back for the rest of the Internet.
