MacTech provides some benchmarks on how well Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac runs on Intel-based Macs (under Rosetta technology).

They used
a PowerBook G4 15-inch, running a 1.5 GHz PowerPC G4, with 2 GB RAM, and an 80 GB/5400 rpm hard disk.
a MacBook Pro 15-inch, running a 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo, with 2 GB RAM, and a 120GB/5400 rpm hard disk.
an iMac 20-inch, running a 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo, 1.5 GB RAM, and a 250GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA hard disk.

The result: PowerBook G4 runs Office 2004 the best (except Entourage), but not much faster, followed by iMac 2.0GHz then MacBook Pro 1.83GHz.

For detailed result, please see Office 2004 Benchmarks on Intel-based Macs.
