Thanks to Pu7o for informing me this. Apple has released iTunes 6.0.4, it appears to be a small update from previous version.

The Disk Utility problem can be fixed by removing the Intel part from the binary. This can be done typing the following at the terminal:
| Code: | ditto --arch ppc /Applications/iTunes.app /tmp/itunes &&
sudo rm -rf /Applications/iTunes.app &&
sudo mv /tmp/itunes /Applications/iTunes.app |
It should ask you for your admininstrative password.

However 6.0.2 gave me that Disk Utility issue. I haven't tried 6.0.3 or 6.0.4. Anyone know if these updates have fixed the Disk Utility conflict. |
Please see this workaround for Disk Utility error.
Stripping certain portion of binary out from Apple released package is not encouraged for average home users, and is a behaviour of hackers. Mac OS X is not designed for UNIX geeks or hackers.

There's nothing wrong with shortening a binary with a tool that Apple themselves provide. Apple themselves do it to save space with iWork '06.

Apple did not strip anything out, they selective provide the suitable binary to the end users.

Then tell me, why is it wrong to remove an un-needed and un-desired part of a binary with a tool that Apple themselves provide, if it does not hurt Apple in any way, and helps both save space and in certain cases like this one, avoid a bug?

I am pretty sure Apple do not encourage average end users to tweak applications (packages) Apple provided. Apple do not encourage average end users to run dangerous commands.

Certainly not for end users, but for people who know what they're doing, it's perfectly fine. I advised EddiePaxil to do it with full, easy-to-follow instructions, so that he does not need any UNIX experience to do it.

Perhaps you should've used [code] instead of [quote].
Still not the method Apple would recommend average end users.
