Of all the stupid e-mails I get in life. This is the stupidest. It really irks me so I decided to jump on a soapbox here. The e-mail I received follows my rant.

There are only 10 base characters in numerical values. You take any event. ANY EVENT! And you can find numerical coincidences. Especially if you pick & chose. For Example

The following is true and no names have been changed to protect anyone:
Quote:
I just ate an egg roll from a chinese food order I got two days ago. I finished eating it at 2:45p Eastern Time on March 9, 2006. I then poured myself a cup of iced tea from a pitcher. Do you see it. See the pattern. Higher powers are speaking to me! Egg Roll- 7 letters, Chinese- 7 letters, I got the food on the 7th day of March, 2:45- Negative 2 plus four plus five is 7 (That's -2+4+5=7)!!!!, Eastern- 7 Letters!!! Iced Tea- 7 Letters!!!!!, Pitcher- 7 LETTERS!!!! I'm doomed. I want my Mommy-!! Wait, she lives in Florida- 7 LETTERS!!!!!!!

That aside now. Why is it simple minded people always use simple Math. As if higher powers wouldn't be smarter than that. You never see one of these e-mails based around the Pythagorean Theorem or Advanced Calculus. Note: Ramsin Yuseb was one of numerous aliases used by the 1993 attacker who's birth name was Abdul Basit Karim (Not 11 letters). If you go through enough aliases one is bound to have 11 letters.

As for the Quran quote. It's wrong period. This is chapter 9 verse 11 of the Quran:
Quote:
But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know.

A little different huh. What's written in this e-mail is not a quote from the Quran. It sounds more like someone using Nostradamus' voice to get their message out. In some of Nostradamus' writings he eluded to "The Eagle" which many have interpreted as the U.S.A. Most os his "Eagle" references however were previously attributed to the 1st Gulf War (Vague as they are). A few even vaguer ones have been attached to 9/11 like:
Quote:
The sky will burn at forty-five degrees latitude, Fire approaches the great new city Immediately a huge, scattered flame leaps up When they want to have verification from the Normans.

"New City" is generally assumed to be Nostradamus' way of saying New York City. As for the latitude New York falls just above 40. Take all this as you will. Never did Nostadamus mention Allah.

The Q33NY wing-dings thing. I'll save those who have yet to see this e-mail before, the suspense. You get a Plane, two buildings, a skull & crossbones and a star of David. That's eerie only if one of any of the planes involved actually had the the letter and number Q33 attached to it. I know this incident very well. Not one plane had these numbers associated to it. But watch some fanatic is going to change it to so and so who was so and so sat in seat Q33 (if there is one).

As for the last part about God. STOP ATTACHING GOD TO PARANOIA, HATE, FEAR. TRAGEDY, WRATH, & WAR. THIS IS HOW THIS TRAGEDY HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! It's also why the number of people who trust or believe in God today is decreasing. I'll get off my soapbox now.

Here's the email:

Quote:
1) New York City has 11 letters

2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.

3) Ramsin Yuseb (The terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) has 11 letters.

4) George W Bush has 11 letters.

This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets more interesting:

1) New York is the 11th state.

2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number 11.

3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11

4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers. 6+5 = 11

5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1 = 11

6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911. 9 + 1 + 1 = 11.

Sheer coincidence..?! Read on and make up your own mind:

1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was
254. 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.

2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year. Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.

3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.

4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident.

Now this is where things get totally eerie:

The most recognised symbol for the US, after the Stars & Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Quran, the Islamic holy book:

"For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace."

That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran.

Still uncovinced about all of this..?! Try this and see how you feel
afterwards, it made my hair stand on end:

Open Microsoft Word and do the following:

1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the fli ght number of the first
plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.

2. Highlight the Q33 NY.

3. Change the font size to 48.

4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS

What do you think now?!!

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

Sorrow looks back, worry looks around, but FAITH looks up

When you are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to something so have Faith because Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible!

"Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these
things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)

Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

STOP TELLING GOD HOW BIG THE STORMS IN YOUR LIFE ARE AND START TELLING THE STORMS HOW BIG THE GOD IN YOUR LIFE IS! Smile

Haters are just the devil's tools to prophesy what God has in store for
you.

Not really it's just this issue hits, literally very close to home. And I don't like people using it to make matters worse. Couldn't let it slide.

There was one I saw, about 270-degree triangles, involving the Pythagorean Theorem and the Triforce symbol from The Legend of Zelda. I don't remember the exact details, but it took me a few minutes to figure out that whoever sent the e-mail to me obviously hadn't considered that spherical geometry and Euclidean geometry were two different things (Euclidean triangles are 180 degrees; I think spherical triangles are from 180 to 270, though I could be mistaken, as I've never taken spherical geometry as a course).

I guess there's one though misguided. Although I'm not totally surprised. Many bright people are into gaming and especially Zelda.
