Microsoft's Macintosh Business Unit released Messenger for Mac 5.1, an update to Messenger for Mac 5 which was released on August 2005.

Fixes include file transfers to users outside of a user’s firewall, Live Communications Server usage, messages being sent to the appropriate location. For IT administrators, the update will provide more control over saving chats at an organizational level.

To note that Microsoft Messenger for Mac 5.1 is still not an Universal Binary.

Here's hoping it isn't as crashy as 5.0 was. And hopefully, they'll get around to adding features currently
only available to users of MSN Messenger for Windows, and the betas of Windows Live Messenger.

I'm sure everyone heard about this one too, being the best MSN app for Mac yet: http://amsn.sourceforge.net/

it's not Mac-native, it's TCL/CK -- i.e. some things won't work properly, like scroll bars.
