It's a bit interesting if you read the message carefully.
Office 2004 for Mac could allow an attacker to change the content in my computer's memory?
Word document is not safe.

That's creepy. Were they talking about automatic macros perhaps ?

I noticed that only PowerPoint and Entourage now have 11.2.4 as version number, Word and Excel remains the same; is it the same on your computer ?

Word: 11.2.3 (060202)
Excel: 11.2.3 (060209)
PowerPoint: 11.2.4 (060501)
Entourage: 11.2.4 (060510)
a few things could have influenced this: I always used the little app "Microsoft AutoUpdate" for Office updates.
And I used to rename my apps as "Word", "Excel" etc., not like "Microsoft Word" - resulting that there were 4 additional apps, each with "Microsoft" before. This makes sense as an update is (I hope!) like trashing an old app and putting a new one.

Word: 11.2 (060202)
Excel: 11.2.3 (060209)
PowerPoint: 11.2.4 (060501)
I don't have Entourage or Microsoft AutoUpdate installed.
Something wrong with my installation of Word.
