That would be a combination of the US-CERT's warning, NS touting it's product as secure, and may other factors.

I also noticed the big jump in Opera hits from June to July.

That could possibly be because it is now advertised as PC World's Browser of the Year. That title has gone to Mozilla for the past few years.

Win NT 50.74%
Win 2000 15.24%
Win 98 12.86%
MacMacintosh 8.60%
Linux Linux 3.73%

The percentage of Netscape 5+ has dropped a little compared to previous month, in August, with the new release of Netscape 7.2, we can safely assume that a number of MSIE users came to grab Netscape.

The UFAQ.org was mentioned in Netscape's Browser Central (homepage). SillyDog701 does not get mentioned, however, for a period of time, SillyDog701 gets the top ranking result when you search "Download Netscape 7.2"

This is the fourth month in a row, we have more than 4 million hits. The statement, SillyDog701 can reach well more than "7 Million hits" in less than two (2) months time, once again proven to be true.

Thanks for posting the traffic information for September and October, Antony!

I wonder if there will be a spike in traffic here this November, coinciding with the release of Mozilla Firefox 1.0?

In the past two months, SD701 has received 6.6 million hits. You'd come to think that SD701 would be averageing over 7 million hits again seeing the Firefox community is increasing; maybe more people would be looking at Switch.

The Mozilla web site has a graphic that Firefox 1.0 is to be released tomorrow (November 9).

So I would hope for an increase in NS 5.0 numbers for November.

Sadly, we still don't have 7 million hits, but we are running in a reliable server, and do not need to ban 150+ IPs. In fact, we don't ban any one from viewing our content. And for your information, we don't transfer 78.30MB of traffic daily either. Our average data transferred per day is just near 1GB (956.74 megabytes), excluding the FTP traffic.
