06 Aug, 2006 10:00 pm KJ Computer Corporation Server down! [sdp=75983]

KJC's server @ http://kjcomputers.serveftp.net is currently down. For some reason the Apache service is refusing to start, so all images in my posts here on SillyDog will not display, also any links to the company weblog will not work. It happened when i was creating webspace for customers using VirtualHosts.

We apologize for the delay, and will have it fixed soon!

Update @ 4.30am UK Time: I've managed to get her online again, by restoring an earlier copy of Apache's httpd.conf file, but all ASP content on the site will not work.

More updates soon!

Update 2 @ 5.21am UK Time: ASP support is now back up, so full functionality is enabled again!

Sorry about the delay!

Everything's OK now. It was a programming glitch in the Apache configuration on the KJC website server.

In fact, that very server is less than a metre away from me, and it's all up and running fine now.

Very Happy

DJGM, are you physically in KJC's server room?

Yep Ant, my server is at Greg's house, the house i share with the missus is currently bieng done up, and we've had a few arguments and things, so i'm staying with Greg for a while.

KJC's depot in Stretford has been pulled down, it was old, so all our servers have nowhere to go, so i moved Riku to Greg's, so i could still run the website

So I'm not the only one that's hosting a Web server out of my house after all. Even if yours is only temporary. Laughing

13 Aug, 2006 3:20 pm Server down for 4-5 hours - new hard disk [sdp=76319]

Hello dear SillyDog & KJC users!

Riku's going to be down for at least 4-5 hours from now, as i'm putting her a new hard drive in, a 40GB, and i'm re-installing Server 2003 & reconfiguring the domain.

All my images in my posts won't show up, and the kjcomputers.serveftp.net site will be completely down!

I'll keep you notified!

P.S For those of you who don't know who Riku is, she's my NEC PowerMate server!

I named her after Rikku, KJC's CEO, my close friend. She helps me run KJC.

Update: 14 August 2006 @ 9.13pm UK Time

Everything's back to normal now, apart from ASP support, ActiveHTML wants re-installing. Riku now has a nice big 40GB WD400EB hard drive in, and 10GB space for KJC's website, which is a damn sight more than the 800MB we had previously!

I've also installed Apache 2.2.2 on Natsuki, my laptop. Can someone test it externally for me by typing http://natsuki.kjcomputers.serveftp.net for me?

It should say "It Works!"

Aww, thanks Mikie, i know she doesn't work, DNS redirection doesn't seem to be working under Active Directory on Riku. I tested it today, and so has Kassie, and it just goes to KJC's site. It only works on our internal network Sad

Mikie, you're so kind to us! I really mean this, you are a genuine nice person, and a pleasure to work with, just like Antony & the SillyDog team. I feel so much at home!
