That's fast shipping. IIRC, this took two and a half weeks to show up. And even then, the post guys didn't have me sign for it... They left a this conspicuous box right at the door!

Some early photo of the new iMac

This just looks like any other standard plain outer box Apple used.

The content:

The batteries for Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard are not bad

And I bought a copy of Parallels Desktop (box copy), it comes with a handy manual.

I will post more photos once my Grumpy is free. My Grumpy is a bit busy, I have to book a time with him for photo shooting Wink

About this Mac:

Well, it's not that fast I have to admit.

Thanks.

And it's fast, in fast the fastest computer I've ever owned. Runs Windows at very fast speed Smile

My Grumpy agreed to pose for photos.

And for the size comparison:

PowerBook is 12-inch, my Grumpy is 35-inch tall, and the new iMac is not as tall as my Grumpy, it's 24-inch.

I ordered a cheap one. Are you guys happy now?

It's not that fast, and not that big, and I can't afford 2GM memory module (stick). If not mistaken, I believe it is slower's than Pu7o's Intel-based iMac and Don's laptop.

17in iMac with a bit upgrade on spec.

Antony is poor.

And yet now you say it's 24-inch?

On 20th Oct 2006, I mentioned that I changed my order.

BTW, an update to the Mac I am getting, I just called up the shop and upgrade a few spec... The established time of arrival is still around 2 weeks.

Well, you upgraded the processor, hard drive, graphics card, memory, and display size... This thing sounds like it's almost twice the price of my laptop! Thus, you are richer than I am (and might I remind you, I am now broke, you most likely are not).

Don, your laptop is 64-bit.

I did not upgrade the hard drive, 250 GB is the default option for the model.

Antony, your iMac is 64-bit.

I upgraded the hard drive... and it was still cheaper!

Your set-up, Antony, is almost exactly like my son's. He's encouraging me to go the same way but right now with the kitchen renovation I can't afford it. Someday. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy your "beloved" system. Wink

The colors on the monitor look great and I like that keyboard with the exposed keys!
