According to 7News, Melbourne's Heathmont College is the first school in Australia to participate a full-scale trial of studying with high-tech gadgets such as iPods.

Melbourne based company "e-tech" in conjunction with Apple Computers plans on transforming the way students learn by using laptops. All books and lesson notes are stored on laptops and iPods.

The programme uses advanced software known as Studywiz which allows teachers and students to assign and upload homework. Students are still required to attend classes as normal.

In 2004, Duke University made a headline by giving all its freshmen iPods. The Mac Observer has detail on Duke University' iPod pivot programme. It was reported doing extremely well.
