I'll admit that my laptop has been dropped and I thought that I was going to need a new logic board. Logic board prices are pretty steep so I was going to part out my laptop, but while i was taking it apart, I realized that the logic board is completely fine, it's a different board off to the left of the laptop. Basically what I had managed to damage was the board that has the plug in for the AC adaptor. Basically I have to push the plug in at a certain angle for the light to come on in the chord to show that it is charging. Because I'm not too good with words and I'm trying to figure out which board I'm talking about, i have taken a picture: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v187/deceitfulsolace/DSC00206a.jpg

I'm assuming i managed to crack the board or damage a wire that is being pressed down to complete the connection so that my computer will charge. Please let me know as soon as possible! (so that i can remove my auctions for selling my battery and AC adaptor) Especially if this fix is going to be cheap (well cheaper than getting a logic board fixed). Thanks!

What was the symptom of your PowerBook G4?
Are you able to boot up Mac OS X at all? And or any error messages?

The computer works perfect! It's just that i hagev to push my AC plug in really hard and get it at a certain angle for the computer to take a charge.

I guess what I need is a DC and sound card which is a relatively cheap fix...and i probably should just get that fixed instead of parting out my computer.

Because if I'm right, if the logic board was damaged, wouldn't the computer have some issues actually functioning? I managed to get it charged last night and I didnt have any issues.
