Here's our setup:
-Powermac G5, OS X 10.4
-Protools LE 7.0, Mbox (the original, not mBox 2)
-iTunes 7
-Quicktime 7
I've had this setup for 2 weeks with no problems. Suddenly, Quicktime has no sound. Moreover, iTunes has no sound AND WON'T EVEN PLAY. It opens, but play time stays at zero when you hit play. Protools, however, plays sound fine.
If I unplug my Mbox and restart, iTunes will play. Similarly, if go into System Preferences > Sound > Outputs and choose the internal speaker, I do get sound out of the mac G5's internal speaker and iTunes will play (even with the Mbox plugged in).
I have seen this problem on another forum website, but no solution was ever suggested there. I recreated the thread... still nothing.
Can anybody help? I verified and repaired permissions. Still nothing.
