Apple have introduced a new, larger capacity, AppleTV. It has 160GB of storage space (vs. 40GB on the original model). It sells for $399 while the original model remains unchanged at $299.

Thanks for the update.

So that's $100 for additional 120GB of storage space. It seems more practical to me, but less affordable.

From the Apple TV specs page, the ports are 10/100BASE-T Ethernet and 802.11n wireless networking for data transferring. And for wireless video streaming, 802.11g or 802.11n are required.

If you want to achieve the fastest connection from your Mac (or PC) to Apple TV, you will need to use 802.11n. Shouldn't Apple throw in Gigabit Ethernet as well? Since all Mac computer hardware are now with built-in Gigabit Ethernet port.

Gigabit ethernet would be nice, but it's not essential IMO. 100mbit is plenty for streaming video from a computer to AppleTV.

160GB of storage is nice, but the entry level isn't worth it with a 40GB drive. $299 with an 80GB drive and $349 for the 160GB model would a much better value proposition for customers.

I'd also like to see the ability to add additional storage space via the USB port. Adding another USB port would be useful as well.
