For those who want an all-in-one smart phone, but don't like iPhone (or simply hate "Apple"), there's a good news.

The phone will be available from Australia's Kogan, using the same Android mobile operating system.

The phone will be available in two models: Agora and Agroa Pro for AU$299 and AU$399. The best part of it... it is being sold as SIM-free. In plain words: the phone will be no contract, no network locking.
It is to be available at end of January 2009. For detail please refer to Kogan website.

For those who don't know Kogan, Kogan is well known for using the same quality panels and components as other well known brands (Sony, Sharp etc) and manufactured and shipped to Australia with many other distributors. (As being reported in Channel 7's Today Tonight.)

Kogan today issued a statement that the Agora has been delayed indefinitely, citing long-term compatibility problems as the cause. According to the article, one concern was that some Android apps wouldn't work properly with the lower-resolution screen on the Agora.

Meanwhile, Kogan has issued a refund to those that preordered the phone.

Thanks for the disappointing news.

If the rumour was true, Google is also controlling the market, like some other companies many open-source extremists like to bash on.
