Apple released iTunes 8.2 software update. iTunes 8.2 adds supports for iPhone and iPod touch with iPhone 3.0 Software update. Many accessibility improvements and bug fixes are included in iTunes 8.2 update as well.

Apple has released iTunes 8.2.1, a minor update to 8.2.

It's worth noting that the "issue with verification of Apple devices" was essentially a fix to make sure the Palm Pre can't sync with iTunes anymore.

I don't think that was a big concern to most people.

Research In Motion (RIM) announced that it would be releasing BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac in September. The software will allow users to sync your iTunes playlists to your BlackBerry device, as well as personal information like contacts, tasks and appointments. Users will also be able to install new software and games with the package.
