what are these file extensions

28 Nov, 2003 3:28 am what are these file extensions [sdp=21842]  
A lot of stuff I download have a .tar or .gz or .cz extension.
I use windows but is it possible that these are Linux extentions because I can't find any way to use them.
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place,wasn't sure.

I'm not sure about .cz extensions, but you can open tar files in WinRAR.

I'm not sure about .cz either it was somrthing I remembered downloading,but i'm not sure it was .cz Smile
