Hi all, Happy Newyear. Understand there is finally an activex control for firefox that works only with mediaplayer unless modified. I assume by installing the activex download, I will then have all controls that are on sites such as iceberg radio.com. Right now I have player control but no inoformation such as song title, artists etc. using firefox. IE works 100%. I decided to go with Mediaplayer 6.4 which works just as well as 9 in most cases including Iceberg radio. I just added the npdsplay.dll plugin. I am wondering if the activex control will work using either version of Mediaplayer. http://www.icebergradio.com/radio/aaa/

Installed activex control in my Firefox 1.0. Could not get Accuradio to work at all. I have heard from past replies that Mediaplayer 6.4 with plugin and activex controls would work at Accuradio.com. Web site says Mediaplayer should work, they do not mention version numbers. Dragged the activex file to Firefox and all 4 files did install to the folder, so can't figure out why it is not working. Is it that activex will only work with Mediaplayer 9???

Accuradio? Icebergradio works, and it requires a minimum of WMP7.1. It is listed in their specs. But, I know that it works with WMP9 or 10, but I have had to fake the User Agent to Firefox. I reported to them, and, in exchange I got a newsletter. You should get that active X file out of the Firefox plugin folder. First of all it is necessary to have a proper file for each type of program, secondly, with the exception of Flash you don't need files in Firefox. And, thirdly you don't need Active X for the site I mentioned. Where do you get the idea?.
It may work work with WMP6.4, but this is what they say at their site.

If you are using Windows Media Player 6.4
Open Windows Media Player and select Tools|Options from the file menu. Click on the "Advanced" tab and press the "Change" button. The following dialog box appears. Make sure that the "HTTP" checkbox is selected. If your network administrator has configured your workstation, then select the "Use browser proxy settings" option, or you can contact your network administrator to manually configure the proxy settings after selecting the "Use proxy" option.

Yes I did remove the activex files as soon as I saw that Accuradio was not working. I got the idea from the Activex for mozilla and Firefox web page. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=167260#FF_AX The pages says activex control out of the box works for mediaplayer only. If you want to broaden the applications you would have to manually configure the activex control files. Web site gives Accuradio as the test site after installing the x controls. I read the requirements at the Accuradio web site and it said Mediaplayer [no version mentioned] I cannot and do not like mediaplayer 7 and 9 they are real resource hogs and I only have an AMD2 processor [I really slow down when 7 or 9 are in use.] Since Mediaplayer 6.4 worked so well for Iceberg.com I thought it might work for Accuradio. At the accuradio site the player will not come up at all.

I knew nothing about Accuradio. That's why I had a question mark in my previous reply.
I did a Search, and everything tells me that this is, potentially, a good site, it has nothing but problems.
