You posted at another newsgroup, word for word. I will summarize what I feel for others. I don't think that Clean Sweep is needed for something like removing cookies or cache. But, on the other hand, if one does not get into a mind frame to do it on a regular basis, it may be necessary. I set cookies lifetime for the session, and clear the disk Cache from the Prefbar.
I don't think that the action would be limited to IE. If it is, Clean Sweep is worthless. I can scan with Spybot S & D, which reports all cookies as spyware, and I had a few from IE, which I, rarely, use, and cookies from NS7.2, Mozilla1.7.5, and a few assorted programs.
According to zdnet.com, the 2002 version was doing an excellent job, with the caveat that it may delete data files.
