Does anyone know if there is a program that will add a Linux API to Windows, much like WINE adds a Windows API to Linux? I'd rather not go the route of Cygwin emulation if possible.

I've never heard of that.

My recommendation, if you really want to try out Linux, get a spare computer and install a copy of Linux.

lookup PhatLinux. It enables you to run Linux within Windows. I have never used it.

Hmm, a Linux distribution that runs on a Windows partition. That sounds good, except they want you to pay $25USD for it.

I think I can use Mandrake's Live CD version of Linux 10, that seems like a better choice at the moment. Either way, I'm still booting from a CD.
