Gee, I don't know whether to call this a blow or a good thing to Internet Explorer. In some cases they make themselves look good, and in other cases they insult themselves. There's a big question mark floating above my head right now.
But, they say the thing is more compatible than Firefox? Compatibility is a wierd thing. My summary of compatibility: there is a garage door opener that will open my garage door. There's also a TV remote somewhere out in the world that will open it.

Part of me says its a joke

Screw that. It will only confuse basic users, so instead of making it an option, we just didn't implement it at all. Oh wait... there goes our browser market share. Our next release will have tabs. |

That site is hilarious. I found this paragraph particularly amusing:

Nowadays, Microsoft don't need to promote Internet Explorer in such a way that people are encouraged to "get" it. Unfortunately, roughly 99% of computer users have it already.

Even though (thanks to the growing popularity of Firefox) IE market share has dropped to something
like 85%, and is still dropping gradually. The upcoming release of IE7.0 might make the overall market
share for IE increase slightly, (by my estimation) maybe about 3 or 4 percentage points.
But since Microsoft are restricting the new (and slightly better than it's predecessor) IE to users
of Windows XP SP2, those that still use older versions of Windows (prior to XPSP2) will continue
to download Firefox. No one in their right mind would buy a new operating system just to get a
slightly better browser, when there is already a better browser available to download for free.
A lot of those that are already using Firefox on XPSP2 will more than likely continue to do so.
In the long run, although IE may briefly regain a bit of the market share it's lost to the young
upstart snapping at it's heels, I believe Firefox will continue to eat away at IE market share.

Mozilla = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Microsoft Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks! |

And thanks to MSIE's past success (in market share), there are many websites that require users to use MSIE exclusively.
