Seamonkey - Flash video doesn't load

Postby RB2D2 » Fri 20 Apr, 2012 12:37 pm

I have the latest version Seamonkey, WindowsXP Pro 64 bit and Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.228 Plugin 64 bit (Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX)

Some news video will not load in Seamonkey, just keeps saying "Loading" on the screen. I think this is mostly with AOL videos such as the following

http://www.aol.com/video/youve-got-aman ... nk1|153538

The video loads fine in Firefox, IE and Opera. Other than these AOL vids I don't have any problem with Flash loading on any web page.

Any suggestions?

I have the same version Seamonkey as you do, and the video loaded and played nicely. Did you give it a few seconds, and took a look down where the progress shows. It started playing in, perhaps 15 sec. after I clicked on the link, and the yellow progress line started as the video started playing.
I must say that I don't have a 64-bit machine, and my Plugin is v.11.2.202.233.

Thanks for the reply Fulvio. Yes I give it plenty of time to load, this had been going on for several weeks I guess. I'm pretty sure this happens only with AOL videos.

I've tried to update to the same Plugin you have from the Flash site and it tells me that version does not support WinXP 64 bit. However, all videos will start and play in Firefox. I don't know what difference there may be between the two. Here is link to a screen shot of the plugins for both Seamonkey and Firefox.

In the past I've been able to solve some problems by coping a file from Firefox Plugin folder to the Seamonkey Plugin folder but they seem to be about the same except for the Java one and I copied that one into the Seamonkey folder and it didn't make a difference.

I've wondered if maybe I need some AOL player but again the videos play in Firefox but not Seamonkey.
