The mail icon is inside the program at the bottom left. It looks like an envelope. This is true of NS7.2 and Seamonkey. I would expect that you used the same profile with both programs. Eventually everything may fall apart because the preferences get mixed up by the mixed signals. One day Seamonkey, another day Netscape.
As for the questions which you asked in the final post, remember that Picassa is not part of any of the programs which you use. I have no idea what type of format they use. If you have a file, I recommend that you zip it, and try to send the .zip file. If what you ask is part of a program, then you should learn about it. If I have time, I will try to learn about Picassa, which I had never heard of, till you brought up your problems.

Postby derfberger » Sun 18 Nov, 2007 10:54 pm

like i said i also send from H P My pictures which went out using N S 7.2 Picass does not recognize Mopzella Firefox, thunderbird or SeaMonkey, only G Mail, Picassa Mial and Netscape.

still can't explain why for a short time i could send pics with SeaMonkey and N S 7,2 and now i can't

Another unexplained phenomion

Up until tonight when i opened N S 7.2 i get a large orange banner saying N S won't support Yahoo Beta.

Now when i open i get my yahoo home page

I went into this at the ufaq.org newsgroup. I hope you find someone who has Picassa, and is successful with all programs.

derfberger: My wife uses SeaMonkey and there is, indeed, a little mail icon in the bottom left corner for the browser screen: second from the left. If you deleted your old NS mail setup, you will have to set up the mail again -- server information, etc. I do not understand the Yahoo mail issue. SeaMonkey does not (at least it did not about two weeks ago) work with the new Yahoo beta home page screen. You have to opt for the older look. You can, if you like, set up an icon on your desktop by creating something that looks like this:
"C:\Program Files\mozilla.org\SeaMonkey\seamonkey.exe" -mail -p (note the speces between the " and the - after .exe and the space between -mail and -p. Just duplicate the browser icon on your desktop and then make the additions to the path and you will have a mail icon for SeaMonkey.

Agree with everything else from "humpd", except for the fact that my Seamonkey1.1.6 gets the new Yahoo page/mail.
In NS7.2, I get this message: Sorry, the all-new Yahoo! Mail does not support your browser.
You can either download a compatible browser or proceed to Yahoo! Mail Classic.

If you want to use the all-new Yahoo! Mail...
You can download any of the supported browsers for free by clicking the links below:

* Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (for Windows)
* Firefox 2.0.0.1 or higher (for Mac and Windows)
* SeaMonkey 1.0.8 or higher (for Mac and Windows)

And, it is true, except that Yahoo seems to ban the new Seamonkey nightlies.
I will see if I can fool them, and report on my attempts.
By the way the entire content of the Status Bar can disappear if there is no check mark next to Status Bar through View|Toolbars. I can make the Mail, and other icons disappear, at will, and bring them back.

I downloaded Seamonkey 1.1.6 but did not install it because I always lose all my email when I upgrade...but I find this thread confusing...Why would Seamonkey open with something called Yahoo page/mail??? I never heard of it and what has it to do with Seamonkey??

You've got me on that one. Are you saying that when you start your SeaMonkey browser that it goes to the mail page? I assume that your email is on your ISP server? Since SeaMonkey uses POP mail, I am not sure what you are saying. You should have a server settings and SMTP settings for your POP mail setup. When I use SeaMoneky mail on my Yahoo server, I have no problems. So, I guess what I am asking is do you use a POP mail account? If you do, try installing Thurderbird and see what happens. If TB works OK, your SeaMonkey email client should work as well.

You lose your mail only if you don't do it right. I am not going to bother going into details at this point, but if you had NS7.2 working, you should be able to use its profile. The only caution is never share the same profile between two similar programs.
I never said that Seamonkey would open with the Yahoo page. My answers were to the original question, which included the Yahoo mail page, not necessarily as home page.
I don't understand what is going on any more than "humpd".
I am giving up on this issue. It is getting totally hopeless.

You both misunderstood me. I was referring to the person who said his Seamonkey opened to the Yahoo page/mail. And I didn't know why it would do that.

(I have not installed 1.1.6 because I always lose all my mail every time I upgrade. That has nothing to do with the Yahoo question.)

It would if that page is selected, in the edit|preferences|navigator|use current pages. You can have your browser any page you choose. I am pretty sure that you knew that.
It does not mean that it would open for you. If nothing has been selected before, the browser would open with the program page (like Seamonkey page. I, immediately, change to a home group, have three tabs show up.
I think that I answered the part on losing mail. My recommendation is, always, to create a new profile, which will have no bookmarks, and mail accounts of your own. Then, you can import files from another program, as well as set up mail accounts. How do you get all your mail from another working program? It is time-consuming, if you have eight mail account as my wife and I have, but we never lost anything.
