Seamonkey thinks that some newsletters are Scams

Postby Fulvio » Sat 04 Aug, 2007 7:04 pm

Does anyone know where the settings for Scam reports are in Seamonkey (I don't think that the version matters, but I have 1.1.4). I know how to disable the setting in Thunderbird, but can't find a thing for Seamonkey. For some reason, SM thinks that each daily newsletter of britannica.com is a Scam. And, after clicking on the not a scam, followed by allowing the remote control every day, for the past two months is getting tiring. What is the feature for, if repeated every day? I know that it is work in progress, but it is making a mockery of a serious problem.

Seamonkey thinks that some newsletters are Scams

I'm not sure SeaMonkey can be trained to recognize a message as "not a scam" (I've tried for months with my daily weather-alert), but I think that all scam recognition warnings can be turned off in About:Config via the Mail.Phishing item. I haven't tried it yet, but I've read it works.

Thanks. I entered mail.phishing, and I got only one item, set to "true". I changed to false, and that was all I needed to do. make your changes, become the warning is a "cry wolf" warning.
I know how to take care of myself.

Thanks. I went ahead and made the change, too. I was getting sick of telling SeaMonkey my daily weather notices weren't a scam.

I appreciate your tip. I looked at the preferences, and found nothing, and was not sure what to look for in about:config.

I found it by doing a search of the Mozillazine forum. It took a number of misses before I hit what I was looking for.
