SeaMonkey & Win7: "attach file" doesn't work

Postby jpChris » Sun 30 Aug, 2009 10:40 pm

Hi all,

I use SeaMonkey exclusively and when I boot to my Windows 7 drive, when I go to any of my e-mail accounts, I can't attach anything to the e-mail. The only time I can attach anything to my e-mail is if I use IE.

Anyone know of a workaround so I can use SeaMonkey and W7?

I answered at another newsgroup, but it was to clarify a point. From what I understand, you are having problems attaching in e-mail. But, then, it gets confusing when you compare with IE. IE is browser only. Are you trying to do this as webmail, or are you comparing Seamonkey mail with IE webmail? What account is this, i.e. isp.net-type?

Hi Fulvio,

Sorry, I should have clarified that it's my webmail accounts. When I'm in Win7 and using SeaMonkey and composing an e-mail in one of my webmail accounts, when I click "attach", nothing happens. However, if I use IE instead of SeaMonkey for my webmail (when I'm running W7), there's no problem attaching anything.

That better? :)

It makes more sense. Now, rather than comparing the behavior of Seamonkey to IE, I would like to see an attempt to use Firefox. Firefox is more universally accepted, while Seamonkey is not. It depends on the type of webmail account.
