Security update bugs me

Postby Fulvio » Fri 22 Jan, 2010 11:42 am

There was a Windows Security update (IE8 cumulative), this morning, and went through the installation. Since my Virus scan had begun, I selected to restart later. Now the same request comes up every 10 min or so. Is there a way to make a selection, to stop bugging me?

Open start, then run and type [tt]net stop "automatic updates"[/tt] and click OK.

That'll temporarily disable it until you reboot.

I had, just rebooted. So, there is no way to disable for the next time. I was concerned that if I do not respond in a timely manner, the computer may be restarted, I like it or not.
I got six warning during the about 90 Virus Scan, and every time I stepped out, the warning was there. So, I will have to, either terminate the scan, or do the update at a later time, to be sure.
