Shiira 1.2 has been released.

Shiira is a web browser based on Web Kit and written in Cocoa. Shiira 1.2 is available for Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later.

New features in Shiira 1.2:

• RSS support
• Page holder
• New application icon
• New sidebar design
• Sound effects and font smoothing switching, to improve universal access support

The page holder is the area to show the sub Web page besides main. You can hold any page in the page holder. Any links clicked will be opened in the main browser window. The page holder is located in the sidebar. This is useful to store the link pages.

Shiira 1.2.1 won't work after installing [sdt=11044]Security Update 2006-002[/sdt]. I believe that Security Update might have too much changes to the AppleWebKit that is used by Shiira.

Antony, on the Shiira web site, it is showing that version 1.2.2 has been released as a fix, so you may want to test that version.

1.2.2 release

This version is a minor update from 1.2.1. It fixes a fatal problem and has some new features.

The problem happenes with Security Update 2006-002. This update crashes Shiira 1.2.1. New version fixes it.

And following fatures are added:

* Added "E-mail Page Location" and "E-mail Page Contents" menu
* Added "Export Bookmarks" menu
