I hadn't noticed this post before. The first download seemed to refer to computers with more than 32 GB hard drive, so I installed the second. So far so good.

When I have a problem with this, I found a FreshUI ( http://www.freshdevices.com ) a handy tweaking tool for W user interface, which has an option to show you the logoff/shutdown script. I found an error immediately. That program is usable for W95, W98, W2000 and XP.
