Simple Mail add on

Postby jjssparkle » Sun 06 Dec, 2009 2:53 am

I'm having trouble with the 'Simple Mail' add on; I receive mail just fine but cannot 'smpt'. Have double checked settings and keep getting error response. This would a handy little tool if everything worked. Anyone else encountered the same thing? How did you resolve it?

smtp nor smpt. Was it a simple transposition error?

No James, unfortunately I have the all server settings correct for this ISP - they've made it extremely simple; incoming and outgoing are: mail.mchsi.com. So easy a caveman could do it.

It could have something to do with the version of Netscape you're running. But that's just a theory.

As JohnE said, I would check if Simple Mail is compatible with the, now, obsolete Netscape9.0.0.6. And, the addon is a Firefox addon. Would its compatibility apply to Netscape. I have no idea.
I would ask, first, the question if anyone is using NS9.0.0.6 and Simple Mail.
I could try to get Simple Mail with Firefox3.x, but if it works it may not apply to NS.
