Singature file removed

Postby Mousies » Sun 24 Oct, 2010 5:59 pm

Hi I am using TB 3.1.5

I have a signature file created, but no longer need it. I removed it in account settings unticked it

The file is still showing up eg where it is located on the computer. It is not putting the signature on but am getting these -- where the signature file used too be.
How do I get it rid of it totally so I do not get these -- do I need too get rid of the signature file out of my documents as well as that is where it is saved.
C:\users\Jan\documents\ network doc. I am wanting too keep the document, but get rid of these --

I have no idea what the problem is. I don't see a signature, and you don't, you mention a path where a .doc file is.
I, never, had to save any document to save the signature. If you go to your user controls|Profile|Signature, and you edit the signature, and remove the contents, you are done. You want to keep the description of your system, and I see that you have.

This is Thunderbird. The file that I use for the signature is still in my documents as I put earlier
every time I send out an email the -- are there.. but no signature and it is still showing in accounts but it is not ticked but you can see the path for the signature file still and I cannot delete it when I do it just returns lol
The signature is saved......C:\Users\Jan\Documents\Signature.html

I am in the part where it says Attach a signature file from Html etc. That is not ticked but that is why now I get the --

Sorry,
I did not noticed the first couple of words of your original message. I was associating signature with this particular website.
I don't believe that I use a signature in Thunderbird, so I am not sure. I took a look at my 3.1.5, and I found, at least three possible places which should be unchecked or modified. 1. in Tools|Account Settings|Account name, there is a potential of a signature text. Mine is greyed out, and unchecked, nothing there. The second which is checked, probably by default is a "choose a file instead", but nothing is chosen. And, finally, there is a Vcard box, which is unchecked. In Composition there is a box which should be unchecked:"include signature..."
As far as I am concerned I would delete the file, wherever it is, but it should not be necessary. I don't have anything which you describe.

I have all those unticked I still get the -- where the signature file used too be. Maybe I will put it back on then take it out again and see what happens, never had this problem before, if you remove it, you should not get the --- where it used too be
thanks for the help, just maybe I have too put up with it
