its supposed to be 10ft away from the building and on the first night that it was in effect May31 city police went into the silverbuckle at 12:01 am and gave the owner a ticket for having ashtrays still on the table..

I visited two pubs last Sunday night. The first Sunday since the smoking ban. It could well be due to the cold weather, both pubs had relatively fewer people than before.

A few people were keep going in and out the pubs. (For smoking outside, and beer is not allowed to be taken out.)

really dustin? haha i did not realize it was 10 ft. i am a bit off i guess. my apologies.

thats pretty interesting antony, i hgavent noticed that much here yet... but heres another point that has come up. alot of places, where you just run a tab, say at a bar, the smokers are in and out, in and out, in and out, and often are not forced to pay the tab before they exit. it is very easy to go out for a " smoke" and not return to pay your tab, since the bars dont take personal addresses or anything to find you if you run.

Science junk!!!

Postby Wishus » Wed 15 Aug, 2007 4:50 am

Well I no I'm the first smoker here to post and probably will be shot down in flames for what I'm about to say, but I can handle it.
For starters the media has led us to believe passive smoking harms others.
THE FACTS - There is no scientific evidence to prove this. In fact there are cases where certain types of cancer were less prominent in person/s who were subjected to passive smoking than in places where they were not exposed to passive smoking.
The people, such as Pharmists & Doctors who are promoting this science junk are people who are making money from products such as Nicobate etc.
I understand smoking is harmful as with any addictive substance, but there are far worst things that kill us much quicker I'm sure.
As for the costs involved in buying cigarettes, they are minimal when you look at it like this - where can you find any form of pleasure that costs say $20 that lasts for 24 hours - NOWHERE.
