Startup screens

Postby Ghostman 1 » Fri 16 Aug, 2002 11:01 am

Hi MR Tinkles:
Ok,first of all I am using only one profile. Second I am using Windows 98 se
dialup . I have the two startup screens,( in Netscape this is what comes up:
http://Wp.netscape.com/browser/6/su_setup62html ) Now the one in Mozilla
is as follows ( http://www.Mozilla.Org/start/ ) thats it for those. Now as for my Homepage I use Yahoo for both and I know that I have these settings right. Now for the other ones. Netscape 7 ("C:\program files \netscape\
netscp.exe" And Mozilla is as follows ( "C:\Program files\Mozilla.Org\
Mozilla" I think that my problem is that I need to have a profile for each
Browser. I am running 2 Mozillas and 4 netscapes. Should I setup a profile
for each one?
 Thanks for your Help >>

Five Netscapes and two Mozillas? That's really not a good idea or necessary, especially if you share profiles. Mozilla profiles shouldn't be shared with other Mozillas much less Netscapes, which set different prefs.

Start Screens

Postby Ghostman 1 » Fri 16 Aug, 2002 3:14 pm

Yep,
That was it,I made a profile for netscape 7 and one for Mozilla and the startup screens are not comming up anymore. I think that I will make a profile for each browser to see what will happen.
Thanks for your help Mr. Tinkles...

You're welcome, but hey now, don't forget to thank Shark Daddy! He actually answered your question before I did with both the latest spin and originally.

He may be a fish, but fish have feelings too! They also feel great sliding down one's gullet, especially after being prepared with some fine cajun seasoning and grilled just so over an open flame...but that's another topic for another day :).

If you want to select a site as Homepage, you first type in the URL, and and get the page, then Edit/Pref./Nvigator/Use Current Page. And, if you want to take advantage of the Tabs, you can pick as many as you can fit, and then then select use Current Group. In that case, you will not see the URLs, but you will have Home Group set written in the preferences box. At this point, I have five tabs making up my home group.
