Nothing is as confounding and mysterious as the weather.

We are not all so fortunate as to live in San Diego, California or Perth, Western Australia.

But SillyDog members live all over the globe and must have a lot to tell us.

So, brighten up our day, let us know how lucky we are not to live where you live. Or, make us miserable by telling us how good you have it.

My wife and I live on the Oregon coast. From our deck we can see the Pacific which is about two football fields distant. If we turn our gaze eastward we see the Coastal Mountain range about a mile from our house. Living on the coast, we experience a lot of rainy weather as westerlies sweep in off the ocean and rise over the Coastal Mts. It is never very cold and seldom very hot; no extremes of temperatures here. There is no need of air conditioning in the summer months; just open the windows and the sea breeze blows in cool winds off the ocean. It snowed a total to two times this past winter. The snow lasted for about an hour each time before melting. The "bad" part is... a lot of gray skies and rainy days. The good part: vegetation grows (huge fir trees). We had a wonderful weekend (high 60's) but today... uh huh... raining! No one runs to get out of the rain nor do they use umbrellas. The kids walk to school in storms... rain soaking them... but they're completely oblivious to it. Since I've only been here nine years (my wife was born here), I'm still trying to adapt.

Today...once the morning fog burns off and the showers stop... it should be partly sunny and in the mid-50's.

Last week, Sydney had its coldest April in record, and I saw many people wore winter clothing. It was maximum at around 13˚C but with strong wind, it felt like 3˚C.

In summer, the temperature can go above 40˚C in December/January, which is the bush fire season.

Since we don't get beautiful snow, 13˚C is very cold for us.

The weather here is similar to what Antony has over in Sydney. Our summers are very hot, with the temperature often in the high 30s or low 40s. Hence, airconditioning is very popular here.

Our winters are fairly mild, they're often quite cold strong winds and a lot of rain, but it never snows here and we rarely get hail.

Right now is my favourite time of year; the weather is about perfect. A minimum of ~12 -> 15C and a maximum of ~18 -> 24C. There's a nice breeze, and a bit of rain, but it's still mainly fine.

The weather in the northeastern United States can be a pretty strange thing. Sometimes the weather's quite agreeable while other times you're facing 35°C summers and -25°C winters with 55kph wind chills driving the temperature down to -40°C.

Right now the temperature's a bit cool for the season. It's 16°C and sunny outside, though just last week (and apparently next week) it was raining outside for a few days with temperatures around 8°C.

I'm in Boston, capital of Massachusetts in the United States. Geographically that's located in the Northeastern part of the U.S.

My sister here is sunny (ha-ha) N.J. just bought a condo in Boston for retirement.

Boston is a great city. I don't travel much, but I was there once for a weekend.

Heh... Rain actually isn't excessive around here; it's just that when it does rain, an afternoon of torrential downpour or a week of showers is pretty common.
