Well, I figured it would be easiest to just line up all 3 PCs and take a picture to clearly demonstrate the desktops.

This is the exact same wallpaper displaying in (in order) Windows XP on an HP Pavilion ze4200, PalmOS 5.2 on a PalmOne Tungsten E, and Mandrakelinux 9.2 on a Gateway Solo 2500. If you can see it, it's also on the 19" TV in the background (serves as XP's second monitor). Feel free to call me a freak.

I was using a white version of the Sustenance visual style, but I found it was too light for my liking, but the metallic version fits in well with the wallpaper and is much easier on the eyes.

Do you plan on upgrading to Tiger when it becomes available, or are you going to wait for a while?

I will buy a copy of Tiger, pretty much right after it's available in Australia.

meanwhile... A fresh installation of Windows XP SP1 under Virtual PC 7.

I just finished this in Adobe Photoshop Elements...

Now if I could just get the stupid IGN logo and 'IGN Insider' text out of there, it'd look pretty good. (and I'm NOT willing to go open up an ISO of SoulCalibur2 and fish out Link's sprite)

Paxil's Desktop

Mac OS X 10.3.9 Panther. I found this at a site for contest winners of graphic arts or something. It's called "Before the First Concert". I'm a musician and audio engineer. I'm also blind in one eye so I felt like this belonged on my desktop.

My WinServer 2003 Desktop

It's just the default XP wallpaper, the default XP theme... The usual.

The apps running are Donzilla 0.7PR1, iTunes 4.7.1 and MSN Messenger 7.0.

Rest of Paxil's Desktops.

Postby EddiePaxil » Mon 25 Apr, 2005 2:19 pm

Here are the rest. I have Panther switching between pics every hour. So here are the rest.

"The Heart Of Rock N' Roll"

Image

My favorite state other than my home state of NJ "Arizona"

Image

This is called "Why Am I Here?" I just find it compelling.

Image

For those who have never been to NJ we are "The Diner Capitol of the USA". And most folks spend a lot of time in diners. Mostly talking. Here is "City Diner"

Image

This may be one of my two favorites. Alomg with the Piano desktop I posted before. This is "The Nonconformist"

That's because they weren't made to be wallpaper. They were entries in a Graphic Arts Contest. There are hundreds of them at this site.

Some aren't great. But alot of them are fantastic.
