Wellander,

That image file is 1.4MB. It is way too big! Not everyone has hi-speed internet connections,
some people still use dialup, and that image file will take too long to load for those people.

Here's a version that's a much more acceptable size for those people without broadband . . .

Image

Please do not use uncompressed bitmap (.bmp) files on the web. Use .png or .jpg instead.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

You have to upload pictures to a fixed location (i.e. not dynamically generated) that allows hot link (i.e. so people can link to it from other domain, Yahoo Geocities does not allow image hotlink.)

Recommended location, the webspace provided by your ISP.

This is my latest desktop. Still using a yellow on black color scheme, and still using Windows 95.

Not present. I had removed Internet Explorer 3.0 with a small but powerful utility called IEradicator, that safely removes about 99% of IE from Windows 9x and 2000 sr1 installations.

Andrew T: I prefer editing the Windows 95 OSR2 install files, you can modify them so that IE 3 and it's email client are never installed.

So do I, but Windows had been pre-installed on this particular computer shortly before it came into my hands and I did not have the inclination to reinstall it.

Back on topic.

FreeBSD 5.2.1 on Virtual PC 6.1.1 for Mac. (Mac OS X 10.2.8 Jaguar)

Please note FreeBSD is a flavour of UNIX, it is not Linux.

A very nice wallpaper image for your Windows XP installation, Mandrake. :) Where did you find it?
