Out of curiosity, what program did you use to make that screen capture? Whatever program it is, it looks like it offers better screen capture quality than Windows Media Encoder does.

I used CamStudio to record into an AVI, then imported the AVI file into Windows Movie Maker and saved it as a WMV at 350kbps.

Screenshot of Netscape 3.01 (which comes with a default installation of Mac OS 8) running under Mac OS 8.1, under Basilisk II. I plan on upgrading this to version 4.08, which was the last version compatible with 68k Macs, IIRC.

Here's a much more customized emulation session, running System 7.5.5 in Basilisk II (68k Macintosh emulator), running several applications with an OS X-like Kaleidoscope theme applied, in full screen mode.

All of that was done with excellent stability in just 64 MB of RAM. It makes you wonder why Windows ME was as stable as a table with a missing leg with 64 MB of RAM... :roll:

Perfect.

Seriously, it does, any 68k program that can run in Basilisk is very stable, and pretty much bug free (except for some window control inconsistancies like in WordPerfect and Netscape, but that's because they apparently draw their own controls, though not as much in WordPerfect as in NS).

Because MS were stupid enough to decide that they could load something as intensive as Windows ME onto the MS-DOS kernel. When you run 2000-era software on something originally made in 1980, well, that obviously isn't going to work so well.

Microsoft Windows XP SP2 under Parallels Desktop for Mac on Mac OS X 10.4.8

And, guess what? Windows XP runs extremely fast. A whole lot faster than running Virtual PC for Mac v7. Even the booting up was very fast. (It's even faster than my age-old PC at work.)

In case you are interested, the information detected by Windows XP says:

Computer:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU
T7600 @ 2.33GHz
2.35 GHz, 256 MB of RAM

Finally, I got it installed!

IBM OS/2 Warp 4, the box copy I bought from eBay few years back.

OS/2 Warp 4 under Parallels Desktop for Mac on Mac OS X.

(starting up screen)

According to the date in CDs, it was 1996 technology!

I have to thank Tony from UK for pointing out on how to create disk images without having access to a USB floppy disk drive. (It was required to boot up with floppy according to the installation guide.)

Off topic: can someone tell me how do I get internet connection working for OS/2?

VMware Fusion Beta for Mac OS X (Intel), running TinyXP (a stripped down version of Windows XP SP2) under Mac OS X v10.4.8 "Tiger". Quoting (and adapting) Antony...

Some of our SillyDog701 users would rush to get the latest of whatsoever software they can get.

I, on the other hand, trying to install some age old software such as OS/2 Warp 4 (that was 1996)

I just managed to installed Mac OS 8.5, the box copy I bought in 2004, the first time I got it installed.

Don't we all miss this beautiful user interface of MSIE 4.01?

Using SheepShaver and a box copy of OS 8.5 (disc), Base on this guide

SheepShaver is always slow, no matter where you run it. If you get a copy of Mac OS 8.1 or earlier, you can run it on Basilisk II, which is a lot faster.
