The Emulator/Virtualisation screenshot thread

Postby TK19 » Mon 11 Jul, 2005 5:00 pm

This is a thread kind of like the desktop thread, except this is just for screenshots of people running emulators like Virtual PC, VMWare, Q, Pearpc, etc. Host your images on photobucket or other image hosting services. Also, you have to shrink your images to about 550 in size before you host it. You can use jpg, png,or gif formats. Now I don't have any good operating systems yet but I will in about a week sinse I need a product key for windows Me. But I have two systems now.

First: PC DOS 2000
Image

Second: React OS (Pretty much useless)
Image
Now its your turn!

Edited Please also mention the operating system (guest OS) you are running and which emulator you use. Antony.

FreeBSD 5.2.1 was installed under Virtual PC 6 for Mac.

I will try to take screenshots of entire screen next time.

And for performance comparison, this thread [sdt=5609]Virtual PC for Mac performance[/sdt] might be useful.

Note: This is a screenshot thread, please do not discuss too much detail on technical aspects.

Last Night I was trying various Linux OSs. I had problems with some being too big, and would take many, many hours to download. The problem with mandrake linux is it says your computer doesn't support long mode, please use a (some number)-bit distribution. I tryed those but the links for usa but they either didnt work or I couldnt understand what to take. Also the one I actually got the installer working from (could have been Freebsd, I dont know) said it was going to erase my HD and was Confusing. WHAT A BAD NIGHT!!!!!

If I could get one I'd either get Mandrake, Suse, or fedora. (Suse and fedora are big!)

You probably don't mean this type of emulators, but oh well...

Sonic and Knuckles running on Gens - Genesis emulator

And an old, but perhaps more appropriate: Mac OS 7.5.3 running under Basilisk II

Here is Windows XP's compatibility mode.

Image

Compatibility Mode was designed to allow older applications to run under Windows XP that may have otherwise failed on XP but not older Windows versions (e.g. Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, 2000). It basically tells that application that your system is one of the older mentioned versions of Windows; in effect emulating the older version.

Here is Mozilla running under Windows 95 Compatibility.

Notice the UserAgent String denotes [tt]Win95[/tt].

Here is a screenshot of the latest release of SheepShaver (PowerMac emulator, runs Mac OS 8.5 - 9.0.4 on the Windows version):

Image

This version contains many improvements than the previous version, one of them being internet support (as you can see in that screenshot).

If anyone wants to see a video of the WeatherSTAR 4000 Emulator in action, I've created numerous videos of it. Here is a video I recorded back on June 29th.

It's from his computer. ;) It's the emulator of the WeatherSTAR 4000, not the real one.
