Clarence was due to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, so he
decided that he needed a woman to help him enjoy his new found wealth.

So he went to a singles bar where he spotted a woman whose beauty
took his breath away. "I'm just an ordinary man," he said to her "but
in just a week or two, my father will die and I'll inherit 20 million
dollars."

The woman went home with him, and the next day she became his
stepmother.

Not in the Province in Canada where I live, She would inherit half if he was Intestate. That's if he was the only child.
However if he had a will, who knows what she would inherit, maybe all of it. Don't forget she would be his wife!!

I guess she wanted the money as a widow and didn't want to wait too long, if the son married her and being his wife waiting for him to die....lol
Then of course he could have died earlier than the father as the father was going to take a couple of weeks.

In other words, she saw the opportunity to become rich sooner and took it! lol
