Well, from the photo, your desk is pretty big, I don't think you are really short of space on the desk.

If I were you, I might simply rotate one monitor to vertical (portrait), which I believe might be a great way for document writing and coding (if you do those a lot).

Otherwise, you can try to get one or two VESA arms and get one extra monitor, hence you can have 2 x 2 TV wall style setup.

There's a distinct lack of brand variety on your desk.

A very harmonic of products, you meant to say?

Well, being poor, can't afford multiple brands like you.

Nice!

BTW, you are on your way catching up Don's collections of computers. (Don once had 16 computers! Also Wallendar had 27 computers he said many many years ago, should have more now.)

Also, I noticed that you also have an Xbox, PS2, and a GameCube. (Don once had three video consoles, Xbox, PS2, GameCube).

ThinkPads!

Image

Fifteen of them to be exact, all obtained for the lowly price of free. Most are old T22 units, but there are also a couple of T23s, T30s, and a T41p. They'll be going up on Craigslist shortly, though I'd also be happy to mail them out to any interested forum-goers.

Congratulations.

So, on top of your main laptop, you have at least 16 laptops! That deserved a "wow".

As for the poor Antony, he has no new computers recently.

With a new computer arrived, it is time for the “do the Dew” photo:

The 375 ml can of Mountain Dew is very useful, apart from “doing the Dew”, it is also great for size comparison.

Don't worry Don, I still don't have as many computers as Don has.

(more photos are available at blog entry)

Got another batch! HP Compaq business laptops this time, again for the lowly price of free.

Two 6910p's and five nc6400's, recently decommissioned, and shortly to be on Craigslist. They're pretty good-looking - 2GHz Core 2 Duos with 2GB of RAM and Mobility Radeon X2300s.

So how many laptops do you have in total?

Are you building a distributed computing?

At the moment I have 19 still waiting for sale. The rest have already been sold. I might keep one or two of the very old ones in case they prove useful for a project sometime.

We all know that Power Mac G5s are very powerful and generate a lot of heat, and in Apple's introduction video, they mentioned that they even designed powerful and quiet fans.

Those fans are so powerful. One person in 68kmla pointed out the situation could be this bad:

(not my machine)

Then, there's a suggestion:
For dusty areas, pantyhose over the areas where the air comes in helps a lot. It catches lots of dust and can easily be cleaned.

Unfortunately, Sydney is not beautiful Boston or picturesque Quincy. Sydney is very dusty. So I bought some stockings (Pantyhoses).

To prevent such problem, I put my Power Mac G5 and Mac Pro with stockings (pantyhoses).

Mac Pro:

Dust is clearly not an issue for people like Don in beautiful Boston or picturesque Quincy.
For the dusty Sydney, I “stocking-up” my G5 and Mac Pro. And that's the conclusion for this post.
