The Problem in Third World Countries

Postby Inu Yasha » Tue 24 Feb, 2004 4:15 pm

A major problem in countries such as Iraq and Afganistan is that many people go to the washroom in their water, then use that same water for drinking and preparing their food.
(It may seem obvious to us that this is bad, but keep in mind, alot of these people cannot go to school, therefore having no education or understanding of how this is bad to their health.)

Okay, and are you going to do something about that?

I don't think you can call Iraq and Afghanistan third world countries.
Iraq is rich in Oil and Afghanistan was a beautiful country although the opium trade was flourishing, then the Taliban took over and Afghanistan became an uncivilized place to live.

Iraq, yes had a very wealthy President who was a dictator stealing most of the money they received from the Oil fields.
The people seemed to be living alright even though they didn't have very much money. Yes, I know the women were unable to attend school, however, it seems to me not long ago the same thing was happening in the U.S.A. with the Black people which also included men. They were not allowed to learn how to read or write.

When oppressed, people find ways of doing things. Many blacks learned how to read during those dreadful times, and I'm sure the same thing happened in Afghanistan.

I don't think the people of Afghanistan were peeing in the water they drank before being bombed by the U.S.A. You don't have to know how to read or write to know good water from bad.
When you are dying of thirst, I suppose you will do anything.

The U.S and U.K. still haven't found Osama, although I understand he is hiding very close to Pakistan and will be captured dead or alive very soon. Probably when Pres. Bushs' Polls and P.M. Tony Blair's start moving downwards again.

Very true, but like I said before, people who don`t learn that this is bad for them don`t know that it`s bad for them.

No, Antony, I`m not going to do anything about it.
I`m just telling people about the situation.
