It must've been a glitch, because the next time I checked, it was down to an hour and 24 minutes.

Play close attention to the system tray:

There is no arrow to expand, and it looks slightly defomed.

If you enter www.apple.com.au on your browser's URL, it usually brings you to www.apple.com/au.

For a brief moments tonight, the redirection did not work.

I went to get onto a computer in the basement of my school's library, and I noticed that it was disconnected from the network according to Windows XP's notification tray. I took a look at the ethernet cable plugged into the back of the workstation, and it was secured, so I followed the cable, which was just taped to the wall and went over a doorway to a wall jack. The wall jack was one of the type that protrudes from the surface of the wall and had two RJ45 jacks and two RJ11 jacks on it. The casing around the jack was pretty much destroyed and there were broken bits of plastic all over the floor around it. It looks like whatever struck the jack did with so much force to break one of the two ethernet ports on the jack. After unplugging the cable from the one port and placed it into another, network connections were restored.

I've been getting quite a bit of foreign language e-mail spam lately. . .

My Gmail spam folder appears to have been on a madcap tour of the Orient during recent months, with the
occasional detours to various Hispanic and Latino countries. I suppose it makes a change from the usual
junk from Nigerian 419 scammers, and offers for Viagra and certain *ahem* anatomical enhancements!

Of course, I checked the system process (Activity Monitor), Firefox was no longer running (no Firefox was running).

It happens on Windows too with both Ffx and SM, but is a rarity on either platform. What would appear
to be happening, is a small fragment of the program is stuck in system memory, some random dll file
or the Mac equivalent of dlls, so when you attempt to reopen the browser from the desktop icon on
the PC (or from the Dock on the Mac) that random fragment is preventing the relaunch.

Sometimes, you have to wait a few moments for that random fragment to eventually work itself loose,
before you click to restart your browser ... or just to close everything down and restart the computer
