The Opera web browser has long been known for its Multiple Document Interface (MDI), which later evolved into "tabbed browsing." One of the drawbacks in the older versions was that you could not take advantage of separate windows and MDI windows at the same time. Well, some of us found workarounds. Here, I managed to have
two separate windows of Opera 3.62!
So how on earth did I accomplish this? Simple. I pressed F1 in the browser (bottom window in screen shot) to bring up the Help Window (top), and then pressed Control+Space Bar. This effectively brings up Opera's home page
inside the Help window! From there, it's a simple matter of navigating to a search page, and then you can load virtually any site you wish.
One side effect to this bug (or is it a feature?)

is that you cannot enter a URL directly into the Help window with the F2 key. Doing so will bring up the normal browser window. Other function keys like F3 will also bring up the normal browser window. The Search button works, though. Fortunately, some other common shortcut keys work as well, such as G and Control-G.
This bug has been removed in later versions, but I didn't let it stop me from finding other means.

More to come on that....
