Themes/Extensions/Ads

Postby James » Mon 05 Mar, 2012 10:55 pm

A few quick questions for you strictly because I'm a curious sort.

Themes: what are your favorite themes for FF/SM? Which is the one you default to most?

Extensions: what are the three - five most important extensions that you cannot do without?

Ads: if you block ads with Adblocker Plus or Adblocker, do you have (deep down) an ethical issue with this? For years I've blocked ads... all ads... and I'm beginning to feel that I've been taking a free ride on someone else's dime. I don't want sites to erect paywalls but if everyone blocks ALL ads at ALL sites, then how are site owners going to pay the bills? Most folks don't become paying members and the revenue is therefore arrived at by members either clicking on ads or at least seeing the ads. I will admit that pop-ups and flash ads are intrusive. But banner ads and static ads are not and I feel that we should not be blocking them. If everyone began to use Adblocker Plus, I suspect the internet would change dramatically and not for the better.

Seamonkey is my default, and Firefox is used, slightly differently, just to see how different addons behave.
Theme: Seamonkey default theme, or Firefox equivalent. I want simplicity.
Addons:( Addon Compstibility Reporter), IE Tab, Prefbar, and Forecastfox. I will take or leave a few others. I, never, had any use for Adblock. But, popups are out.
