Thunderbird Account Setting

Postby James » Mon 08 Aug, 2011 3:48 pm

Since we have no Thunderbird folder, I'm putting this thread here but feel free to move it elsewhere.

I've set up my Thunderbird e-mail and all is well with one exception. My ISP's pop mail is fine, the newsgroup mail from the ISP is fine, the imported Hotmail is also working fine. Initially, he G-mail seemed to work but then I began to get messages that my password as not correct. I'd type in my password but the same message would immediately re-appear. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing this account with no success.

Anyone else retrieving their gmail via Thunderbird?

Okay. My issue appears to be resolved. A third uninstall and re-install appears to have done the trick. :)

Just a PS for any future readers of this thread -
An 'unaccepted' password may be due to a bad/corrupted password already stored.
Go to the Passwords Manager and Delete the entry for the troubled account.

The 'get a password' scan seems to start at the top of the list; a new one isn't honored if there is any existing one.
